Description

Numbers 7, 7A, and 8 are a row of three houses, likely originally conceived as a single residence, dating from around 1832 with later additions. They are constructed of yellow stock brick with a rusticated stucco ground floor. The houses are arranged over three storeys, with a semi-basement level. Plain brick pilasters are positioned between the houses on the first and second floors. Each house has two windows. Number 7 features an enclosed Doric portico with a panelled door and overlight. Numbers 7A and 8 have simpler entrances with patterned overlights and panelled doors. Gauged brick flat arches appear above the recessed sash windows; the first floor windows have margin glazing, although Number 7 has casement windows, and are accompanied by cast-iron balconies. The houses are topped with parapets. The interiors have not been inspected. Attached to the property are good cast-iron railings to the areas and forecourt; a gateway to Number 7 features a single openwork cast-iron box pillar, while Number 8 has two such pillars.
