Description
The boundary wall to the graveyard of the former Highgate Chapel is a significant structure measuring sixty metres in length, dating from the 18th and early 19th centuries, with some patching along Southwood Lane. It is constructed of stock brick and features a gate that faces Highgate High Street. The wall along Southwood Lane is taller due to the sloping land and includes thirty metres of early 19th-century cast-iron railings, which are square with spear tops and classical urns. This wall is attached to the Highgate School chapel and plays an important role in the character of Highgate village.
