Description

Vine House is a detached house dating from the early 18th century, which was refaced in the late 19th century, with a later 19th-century rear extension. The house is constructed of yellow stock brick with red brick dressings, and has a slated hipped roof with a modillion eaves cornice to the front elevation. It is three storeys high and double-fronted, with five windows. The central wooden doorcase features a hood supported by enriched console brackets, and a panelled door with an intersecting tracery overlight. The ground and first floor windows are segmental-arched sash windows with flush moulded frames, while the second floor has similar square-headed sashes. A plain brick band runs along the first-floor level. The left-hand return wall is of early 18th-century brown brick, featuring a narrow blind window and floor bands. The right-hand return has a late 19th-century, full-height, three-light bowed bay with a cast-iron balcony at the first-floor level. The interior is believed to have been altered.
