Description
Twites Farm Cottages is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with cottage number 4 added in the 18th century. The building was divided into cottages in the 19th century. It has two storeys and attics, constructed with a timber frame and rendered, featuring mainly 20th-century pargetting. The roof is made of concrete tiles and has prominent gablet dormers. An axial chimney displays saw-tooth pattern shafts on a square base, while a gable chimney has been internalised due to the addition of cottage number 4. The windows include various 19th-century casements and sash styles, along with boarded entrance doors. Notably, there is a 17th-century three-light ovolo-mullioned attic gable window. The roof structure is wind-braced with side purlins. The building was restored around 1970 after a fire.
