Description
Crook Foot Farmhouse and Cottage is a farmhouse and cottage combined under one roof, likely dating from the late 17th century. The building features roughcast render over rubble with protruding through stones and has a graduated greenslate roof. It has four chimneys at the ridge with round shafts, the northernmost of which has paired shafts, and one square chimney at eaves level at the rear. The structure is two storeys tall and has a T-shaped plan. The entrance includes an oak boarded door with iron studs set under a gabled porch with a slate roof. The ground floor has two casement windows and one fixed-light window, while the upper floor has three casements, all with glazing bars. Inside, there are old beams, a staircase with turned balusters, and fragments of 17th-century panelling, including a panel dated 1674. Most of the panelling is 20th-century oak designed to match the original. The cottage, which is an extension to the east, has been completely refurbished in the 20th century.
