Description

Chilham Cottage, Norwood House, and Hogg's are two houses and a corner shop dating from the early 19th century. The buildings are three storeys high, featuring two windows for each house and two windows on the return elevation facing St. Mary's Square. They are constructed of painted brick with rendering at the ground floor level, and the corner has a rounded edge with a slight set-back. The roofs are slated and have axial chimneys made of red brick. The sash windows have flat arches made of gauged brick and small-pane sashes. Each entrance has a four-panelled door, an oblong fanlight with decorative glazing bars, pilasters, and a flat canopy supported by console brackets. There is a mid-20th century shop front at the corner.
