Description
Sandover House and Stafford House are two houses that were formerly one, built in the mid to late 18th century with early 19th-century alterations. They are two storeys high with attics, featuring two windows for Stafford House and one window for Sandover House. The buildings are constructed of gault brick and have a string course at the first floor and dentil eaves. The roof is hipped and covered with plain tiles, and there are flat lead-roofed dormers with sash windows. A rear chimney is also made of gault brick.
The sash windows have flat arches made of gauged brick and include early 19th-century small-pane sashes. The entrance to Stafford House features an early 19th-century door with six sunk panels, an oblong fanlight, a moulded architrave, and a wooden cornice supported by console brackets. Sandover House has a late 18th-century entrance door with six fielded panels, an oblong fanlight, a moulded architrave, and an incomplete entablature with triglyphs and dentils. Additionally, there is a late 18th-century splayed two-storey bay with small-pane sashes and a flat roof with a parapet.
