House. Early C17. Timber-framed and rendered; plaintiled roof. A gable end chimney-stack with a plain red brick shaft. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic; 2 windows to the 1st storey: both 2-light small-paned casements. One sash window to the ground storey with a single vertical glazing-bar in a moulded flush cased frame. One gabled dormer with a 2-light small-paned casement window to the front slope of the roof and another on the rear slope. Slightly recessed 6-panelled door with the top 2 panels glazed in a wood surround with plain reveals. A C19 single storey lean to extension at the rear was raised to 2 full storeys in the 1980s. INTERIOR: no cellar. Frame in 2 bays. The north end is butted up against a pre-existent building and has only the main components of the frame with no studding. On the ground storey the chimney-stack has original early C17 bricks and mortar and a plain lintel, chamfered, with curved stops. The main ceiling-beam has ovolo moulding. On the 1st storey the main ceiling beam and trimmers have ovolo mouldings and a type of jewel stop with groove. The upper wall at the north end had traces of external pargeting prior to recent restoration. The roof retains original rafters but the form of construction is not clear.
