Description

This barn, located 20 yards west of Twites Farm Cottages, dates from the early to mid-17th century. It features five bays and two aisles, constructed from timber framing and weatherboarding, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The walls exhibit windbracing through the studs, and the main posts are jowled with aisle tie-beams. The roof has clasped purlins with principal rafters positioned at half-bay intervals. Notable large clear assembly marks can be seen on the main components, and the frame is complete.
