Description

This Methodist Church, dated 1836, is located on Regent Street in Stowmarket. It features Gault brick construction and a roof covered with concrete corrugated tiles. The building is two storeys high with a three-bay facade on the north-east gable, which is partially obscured by a 1960s grey brick single-storey narthex that has timber doors and narrow sash windows with 4/4 glazing bars. The main wall at the first-floor level is illuminated by three sash windows with 8/8 glazing bars, set beneath blind round arches. There is a datestone above these windows. The church has a gabled roof, and the main returns include two tall round-headed windows, with the south-east return rendered. Additions and alterations were made in 1965.
