Description
The Methodist Church, dated 1859, is a brick building with a slate roof, situated on Chapel Street in Rocklands. The church has two storeys and three bays, distinguished by corner pilasters extending to the eaves. The main entrance features a plain 20th-century door with two square overlights, all set beneath a gauged skewback arch. A datestone is located above the door. Sash windows with gauged skewback arches are found on the front facade, one to the left, one to the right, and three on the first floor. The returns to the left and right sides of the building are similar in design, with two bays each. The roof is hipped. Wrought iron railings surround three sides of the church; these are unadorned with stiles incorporating a middle rail and square section verticals topped with fleur-de-lys linials alternating between the top and middle rail. An overthrow arch featuring scrolls is at the entrance. Inside, there is a gallery on the first floor.
