Description
The Methodist Church, dated 1823, is a two-storey brick building located on Union Street. The front elevation is covered in a cream wash and features five windows. The central three windows are topped with a pediment-shaped gable, flanked by the remaining bays, which have finials at the corners. There are four pilasters on the first floor, and the central first-floor section includes three pointed lancet windows with hood moulding. The ground floor projects outward, and the doorcase has a pediment above, which contains a datestone, supported by four composite pilasters and accessed by three steps leading to the street. The side elevation is made of brown brick and also has two storeys, a hipped roof, and four modern casement windows with cambered tops. The interior of the church has been modernised. The building has group value with the walls and railings located to the south of the Methodist Church.
