Description
Little Ellingham War Memorial is a First World War memorial with additions for the Second World War, located in the churchyard to the north-west of the Grade II*-listed Church of St Peter.
The memorial is made of grey granite and features a rough-hewn wheel-head cross on a three-stepped base. The base has smooth, inset panels with leaded lettering that display the inscriptions and names.
The main inscription is on the south face of the upper step, which reads "IN MEMORY OF THOSE/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT/ WAR 1914-1918." Below this, five names are listed on the middle step. The bottom step includes seven additional names followed by the phrase "THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE."
On the east face of the upper step, there is a dedication for the Second World War, stating "1939 - 1945/ (3 NAMES)."
