Description

39 and 41 Stowupland Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and flat. It dates from the mid-16th century and features a timber-framed structure with a 20th-century Fletton brick facade. The building has a plain tile roof and stands two storeys high with an irregular two-window front. The ground floor includes a 20th-century door and window, while the first floor has two 3-light 20th-century metal casements. The roof is gabled. At the rear, there is an external brick stack and a timber-framed cross wing, with the end rebuilt in 20th-century Fletton brick. Inside, the ground floor boasts heavily moulded bridging beams with carved leaf stops.
