Description
Valley Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 16th century, with likely 18th-century additions at the service end. It features a timber frame with modern roughcast render and a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, originally designed in a three-cell form. There are four windows with mid-20th-century small-paned casements. At the front, there is a mid-20th-century gabled entrance addition that includes a glazed door and similar windows on either side. Inside, there is a heavy internal stack and a later stack to the left, situated between the original service end and the 18th-century addition. Much of the good quality framing and floor structure is exposed, including one blocked diamond-mullioned window and evidence of others. The storey posts in the parlour have moulded heads, and the later addition is framed with re-used timbers, some of which are fire-damaged.
