Barn, 40 Metres South West Of Rookery Farm

This barn, located 40 meters south-west of Rookery Farm, dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It has four bays and is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding, topped with a pantiled roof that was originally thatched. The barn features opposing boarded doors at the second bay from the north-east. Inside, there is good complete arch stud-braced studding, and the tiebeams at the open trusses retain several archbraces. The third and fourth bays from the north-east are narrower than the first two, though the reason for this is unclear. The roof was rebuilt to its original pitch in the 19th century.
