Description

This barn, located 10 meters southeast of Mill Lane Farmhouse, dates from the late 16th century. It is timber framed and covered in corrugated iron and weatherboards, with a corrugated iron roof. The structure consists of four bays, with the southernmost bay originally floored over and used for stabling, featuring an original loft window. There is a cart entrance in the second bay from the north, which has a later gabled porch to the west. The oak studding is largely intact, although most of the arched braces of the open trusses have been replaced with knees. The roof is supported by a queen-post design, and there is a brick threshing floor in the entrance bay.
