Description

WEYBREAD TM 28 SW 1/125 Corner Farmhouse - -- II

Farmhouse. Dated 1558 on the head of one of the service doorways; mid or late C19 alterations. Timber framed core, mainly encased in red brick but the left gable end and part of the rear still plastered. Roof of glazed black pantiles. 2 storeys. 3-cell form. 3 windows, 3-light casements with C20 square-leaded glass; segmental arches. Small gabled porch with paired glazed doors and glazed gable. Internal stack with shaft rebuilt in yellow brick. To the left a C20 addition with stepped parapet. Good exposed timbering in first floor rooms. Original paired service doorways with 4-centre arched heads. A C19 straight stair tunnelled through the stack.
