Description
Graystone House is a building that was originally constructed as a house and later converted into two cottages. It dates from the mid 16th century and early 17th century. The structure is timber framed and finished with modern textured render, topped by a pantiled roof. The house has two storeys and an attic, featuring a two-cell layout. It has three windows with mid 20th century metal casements. The entrance is a lobby type, with a mid 20th century gabled porch and a contemporary door. To the right, there is a 19th century four-panel door. An internal stack is present. During a survey in November 1985, the older right half of the house was undergoing internal renovation, revealing much close studding and evidence of original chamfered and diamond-mullioned windows. The roof features queen-post construction. The left half of the house has exposed timbers only on the upper floor.
