Description
This barn, located 50 meters south of Hollybush Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century and underwent some remodelling in the 19th century. It features five bays and is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding. The roof is covered with 19th-century pantiles and is adorned with spike finials and a weather vane at the west gable. In the center of the south side, there is a set of boarded barn doors set within a shallow porch. The open trusses are supported by long plank archbraces, although some have been removed. Until the 19th century, the barn had an aisle along the rear wall, where arcade posts with straight arcade braces can still be seen, along with 19th-century primary-braced studwork infilling. Original studding is present in other walls. The barn is included for its group value with the nearby farmhouse.
