Description
Brook Farmhouse is a farmhouse from the early to mid 17th century, featuring a three-cell lobby-entrance plan. The building has two storeys and attics, constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior. It has a plaintiled roof, with the west gable facing the road showcasing an oversailing tie beam that is moulded and supported by brackets. A notable axial 17th-century chimney made of red brick has a moulded and panelled base, topped with four square shafts connected by a cap. The windows are 19th-century small-paned casements, and on the north side, there is a chamber window with a moulded oriel cill in the style of the 17th century. The entrance door, located at the lobby-entrance, is a 19th-century panelled design. At the rear, there is a small two-storey service wing with a slated roof, which includes a 17th-century chimney featuring a sawtooth shaft. The interior has not been examined.
