Description

The Model Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 17th century or earlier. It has one storey and attics, featuring a three-cell plan with a lobby entrance. The structure is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof that includes one eyebrow casement dormer. There is an axial chimney, with the shaft rebuilt in the mid-20th century using red brick and featuring four diagonally-set square shafts. The house has small-pane casements from the 19th or 20th century and a boarded door at the lobby entrance. Although the interior has not been examined, the low and wide profile of the house suggests it may have a medieval core.
