Description
Green Farm Cottage is a house dating from the early 17th century. It has one storey and attics, featuring a three-cell lobby-entrance plan, with a possible fourth cell added later to the right. The building is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a pantiled roof, which was formerly plain tiled, and includes one 19th-century gabled casement dormer. An axial chimney made of 18th-century red brick is present. The cottage has late 19th-century casements and a 19th-century gabled pantiled porch at the lobby-entrance, which features a half-glazed four-panelled door. Inside, the un-moulded 17th-century framing is exposed, with unchamfered floor joists laid flat. The larger joists in the service room to the left are reused from a 16th-century building. There are back-to-back lintelled open fireplaces.
