Description
Beech Tree Cottage is a house from the early 17th century, featuring two storeys and attics. It has a two-cell lobby-entrance plan and is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior. The thatched roof includes an axial chimney, which was rebuilt in mid-20th century red brick. The cottage has late 19th or 20th century casement windows with leaded lights. There is a pantiled gabled entrance porch from the 20th century with a framed and boarded door. Additionally, there are pantiled single-storey extensions at both ends, with a lean-to on the left and a gabled structure on the right. Inside, the parlour features an ovolo-moulded bridging beam and chamfered joists laid flat, along with lintelled back-to-back open fireplaces. The building displays close studding in its construction.
