Description

Forge Cottage is a house, probably dating from the 17th century. It has one storey and attics, featuring a two-cell lobby entrance plan. The structure is timber-framed and plastered, with the front elevation made of plastered brick. The roof is thatched and includes an axial 17th-century chimney made of red brick. There are thatched eyebrow casement dormers, along with late 20th-century casements that have cambered heads. A late 20th-century thatched gabled porch is located at the lobby-entrance position, which has a framed and boarded door. At the rear, there is a late 20th-century lean-to extension. The interior has not been examined. This building is included for its group value.
