Description

Farthing Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, situated on The Street in Bacton. It is a one-storey building with attics, originally constructed with a three-cell lobby entrance plan. The house has a timber frame covered with pebble-dashed render, and a thatched roof featuring three 19th-century eyebrow dormers. An axial chimney is built of plastered brick. The windows are three-light casements from the 19th century. A boarded door is positioned at the original lobby entrance. The original timber framing is unmoulded, exhibiting lambstongue chamfer stops to the main beams.
