Description
The Limes is a former farmhouse, likely built in the late 16th century. It has two storeys and attics, featuring a three-cell plan. The structure is timber-framed and plastered, with an oversailing tiebeam at the east gable, and the wallplates are supported on brackets. The roof is covered with plain tiles and includes one gabled casement dormer. There is an axial chimney made of red brick from the 16th or 17th century, with a sawtooth shaft that may be a 20th-century replica of the original. The windows are oak mullioned casements dating from around 1980. The entrance door, which is battened and boarded, is from the 20th century and has two glazed panels; it is located in a small extension at the rear, which also features an open 20th-century lean-to porch supported by posts. The interior has not been examined.
