Description

The Cottage is a house, likely dating from the 16th century. It has two storeys and a three-cell lobby-entrance plan. The building is timber-framed and encased in 19th-century gault brick, with a render applied in the late 20th century. The roof is pantiled, although it was once thatched. There is an axial chimney made of red brick from the 16th or 17th century, with the shaft partially rebuilt in the 19th century. The windows are mainly early to mid-20th century three-light casements. The entrance features a gabled porch with 19th-century undulating bargeboards and a six-panelled door from the same period. The interior has not been examined.
