Description

This barn, located 80 meters west of Rookery Farmhouse, dates back to the 16th century with alterations made in the 18th century. It is timber framed and primarily covered in weatherboarding, while the south gable end is clad in corrugated iron. The roof is thatched and the structure consists of four bays. There is a cart entrance in the second bay from the south, which features a gabled porch on the west side. The 18th-century alterations include replacement studding with straight primary braces. The northernmost bay was originally floored over, and the wallplate in this area has mortices for diamond-mullioned windows. The barn has a largely intact queen-post roof.
