Description

Chapel Farmhouse is a probable early 17th-century farmhouse. It is timber framed, with some parts roughcast-rendered and some plastered. The roof is covered with 20th-century interlocking concrete pantiles. The house is two storeys high with an attic, and originally comprised two principal rooms arranged in a lobby entry plan. It has two windows, which are large-paned casements from the mid-20th century. A small gabled porch with a mid-20th century door has been added. There is an internal stack. Inside, much of the timber frame is concealed behind paper. A ground floor room to the left features two axial bridging beams with ogee stop-chamfers and slightly-chamfered joists. The roof remains largely intact, featuring a single row of wind-braced clasped purlins. A newel staircase is also present.
