Description
Rookery Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, built in two phases to create a single long range. There are large additions to the rear from the mid-20th century. The building is timber framed, with the earlier three-cell section on the right faced in whitewashed brick, while the rest is either plastered or roughcast-rendered. The roof is mainly covered with plain tiles, although one section at the rear has pantiles. The farmhouse has two storeys and features a range of five windows, primarily 18th and 19th century small-paned casements, along with two ground floor windows from the 20th century. A small gabled brick porch contains a 20th-century glazed door. Inside, there is an internal stack with a plain oblong shaft, the upper half of which was rebuilt in the mid-20th century, and a gable stack on the left. The interior has been modernised but has not been fully examined. Additionally, there are remains of a medieval moat on the property.
