Description

The barn at Rooks Farm, located to the south of the cottage, dates from the 16th and 17th centuries. It is a tall, four-bay structure with an additional bay added later to the west. The barn features a massive timber frame set on a brick base, with a collar supported by a king post, and arched braces connecting the tie-beams and purlins. The roof is covered in red tiles and has a half-hipped design at the west end. The walls are primarily weather-boarded, with the western bay constructed in red brick. There is a modern south aisle that matches the original style, along with a 19th-century brick stable block at the south-west corner and a modern weather-boarded stable at the north-east corner.
