Description
The Old Store House is a timber-framed house that dates from the 16th century, with early 19th-century and circa 1900 alterations. It has one storey and an attic, with later cladding added. The building features a forward-projecting shop from around 1900. The roof is covered with red tiles and includes two gabled dormers with cills at eaves level, along with a shafted stack. The walls are made of painted brick and have cambered openings, with casement windows. The shop has a tile roof with a front gable and rough-cast walling, featuring a large gabled bay on the east side supported by ogee-curved walling. The front window of the shop is now flat, but it retains the original cornice and frieze, which is designed with two wide bows and a central narrow bow. Inside the shop, the original solid door frame is still present. There is also an eastern addition to the house from around 1900.
