Description

Hartford House is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys tall and features a symmetrical arrangement of windows, with one window on each side of a central door. The roof is covered with red tiles and has brick dentil eaves. Above the projecting centre, there is a pediment-shaped gable that is surrounded by brick dentils and includes a semicircular recessed panel in a rendered wall. The walls are made of red brick laid in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches and stone cills. The windows are Victorian sashes. The doorway is framed with a plain architrave and has simple brackets that support a plain canopy. The door itself has three vertical glazed upper panels.
