Description

This is a pair of cottages located 300 metres south east of Tithe Farmhouse. The cottages date to the 16th century and the late 18th century, with a rear wing added to the left-hand cottage in 1975. They are timber framed and plastered with a pantiled roof. The cottages are two storeys high and have two windows, featuring 18th and 19th century casement windows. There is an old boarded door to the left and a mid-20th century door to the right. A central axial stack provides ventilation. The right-hand cottage is the older part, dating to the 16th century and originally consisting of two bays; much of the timber framing is now concealed, although some plain ground floor joists remain visible. The roof is original and largely intact. The later section of the cottages has been modernised, with exposed timbers visible inside.
