Description

Bridge Cottage, formerly known as Bridge Cottages, is a house that was later converted into four cottages. It dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century and has undergone significant alterations since then. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring four mid-20th century large-paned casement windows, a boarded entrance door from the same period, and four mid-20th century dormers. There is a central axial stack and an external stack on each end gable. The interior has been modernized, with the timber frame exposed. This structure stands on the site of the former guildhall and was once used as the parish workhouse.
