Description
Nos. 1 and 3 Bury Street is a house and shop dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of gault brick and features a slate roof. The building has three storeys and is arranged in five bays. There are platbands at each floor level. The front facing Bury Street has a 20th-century shopfront and a half-glazed door to the right. The right-hand bay on each floor has a blind window. The first floor is illuminated by three 8/8 sash windows set under rendered gauged skewback arches, along with a second blind window. The second floor contains two more blind windows and two 4/8 sash windows, also with gauged arches. The roof is hipped and includes two gault brick stacks. The Tavern Street front has a single bay that continues the shopfront and features one sash window on each floor, identical to those on the main front.
