Description

Nos. 81 and 83 High Street is a house and shops built in the late 18th century and early 20th century. The building is constructed from narrow gault brick in English bond and features a steeply pitched tiled roof with tumbled parapet gable ends and end stacks. The front is covered with asbestos slates, while the rear has Welsh slates. It has two storeys and attics, with a band running between the storeys. There are three windows with segmental arches and flush frame hung sashes. The original central doorway is also in a segmental arch and has a door made of six raised and fielded panels, flanked by paired shop fronts and doorways that were inserted in the early 20th century.
