Description

House, dating to circa 1790, with later additions at the rear. The building is constructed of gault brick, with a steeply pitched parapetted roof which is now covered in cement tiles. It has original end stacks and an L-shaped layout. The two-storey main facade is symmetrical, featuring three recessed window openings, now fitted with 20th-century glazing. A fine early 19th-century cast iron porch shelters the central doorway, which has a round-headed arch, panelled reveals, and a six-panelled door. A later lean-to kitchen wing extends from the rear. The ground floor internal walls were remodelled in the 19th century, coinciding with the rear additions. However, the first floor retains circa 1800 reeded door surrounds, and a staircase with square balusters and square newels. The property includes an ice cellar.
