Description
This barn, located 40 meters southwest of the Post Office, dates from the late 17th century and consists of three bays. It is timber-framed and plastered, with some sections underbuilt in tarred red brick on the north side. The roof is pantiled, having originally been thatched. The north side features a set of four 19th-century boarded doors in the center bay. The barn displays close-studding with tension stud-bracing and a middle rail. Both open trusses maintain plank arch braces, and the roof has clasped purlins with some windbracing. At the east end, there is a lean-to addition that is weatherboarded and thatched, dating from the 18th or 19th century, and on the south side, there is another lean-to that is pantiled.
