Description
This barn, located about 30 meters west-northwest of Doggetts, is likely from the early 18th century and incorporates earlier materials. It features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a tall English bond brick plinth, topped with a pantile roof that has gabled ends. The barn has a rectangular plan with four bays and a cart entrance located in the third bay from the left. There is a later lean-to added to the right (east) end. The south front includes large plank double doors positioned to the right of the center, while the rear doorway has been blocked with a small hatch inserted. Inside, the barn has full-height wall studding without rails, straight tension braces, jowled posts, and the braces to the tie-beams have been removed and replaced with curved hanging knees. The roof structure was replaced in the 19th century.
