Description
Grove Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is timber framed and plastered, with the left gable end tarred. The cottage has a thatched roof and is 1½ storeys high, featuring a two-cell layout with an end chimney. The windows are 19th-century small-paned casements, and there is one tall eyebrow-type dormer. The door, which is boarded, dates from the 20th century, and the chimney stack has a small white brick shaft. There is also a small pantiled lean-to addition on the right side of the building. The interior of the cottage is largely intact, with a frame that includes straight primary braces still showing assembly marks. The joists are laid flat and are quite widely spaced, and there is a newel stair located adjacent to the stack.
