Description
Thirkettle Cottage and Harvest Cottage are two dwellings dating to the late 16th and early 17th centuries, with later additions to the rear. The front facade is timber-framed and plastered, faced to resemble ashlar. The roof is pantiled, with glazed black tiles at the front, and features ornate bargeboards with pierced cusping and serrations. The cottages are two storeys and have an attic. The plan comprises three cells, and there are four windows, mainly early 19th century casements. Harvest Cottage has two late 19th century sash windows on the ground floor. There are three early 19th century doorways, the central one with a moulded architrave, corner roundels and a cornice. Three 19th century four-panel doors are present, one of which is half-glazed. An internal stack is also present. The interior has not been examined.
