Description
The Post Office in Stradbroke is a house and shop that dates back to the 18th century, with possibly an earlier core. It features a double pile plan and is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior. The roof is slated at the front, while the rest is covered with pantiles. The building has two storeys and includes four sash windows with glazing bars set in flush frames. An early 19th-century shop doorway is adorned with a dentil cornice supported by console brackets, and there is a mid-20th-century door with two leaves. Additionally, a late 19th-century two-light shop window has a bracketed cornice. A small ground floor section from the adjacent range is part of the Post Office and contains a boarded door along with a three-light rectangular fanlight. The interior has not been examined.
