Description

Hempsheaf House is a late 16th and early 17th century public house, vacant at the time of inspection in April 1986 and subsequently converted into a house. The building is timber framed, with the facade and right gable end rendered in red brick dating to the late 19th century. The remaining structure is plastered and the roof is thatched. The house has two storeys and three windows on the first floor, fitted with 19th-century two-light casement windows. Four ground floor windows are set within flat, stuccoed arches, each featuring raised, rusticated keys. A lobby entrance is present, with a mid-20th century gabled porch and door. An internal stack is a feature of the building. The interior was not inspected.
