Description
This large barn, located approximately 50 metres south west of Doggetts Farmhouse, has origins dating back to the 16th century, with additional bays and alterations from the 17th and 18th centuries. The barn is timber framed and covered with weatherboarding, topped by a roof clad in corrugated asbestos. It features a central gabled midstrey. The 16th-century bay to the north originally had arched braces to the tie beams, which have since been replaced with hanging knees. The 17th and 18th-century side purlin roof is pegged at the ridge, and the walls exhibit through bracing.
