Description
The Maltings is a house dating from the 16th to 17th century, with later alterations. It features a timber-framed and plastered structure, with a red brick facade at the front, 18th century brickwork to the right, and 19th century brickwork to the left. The roof is pantiled, with glazed black tiles at the front. The building has two storeys and a three-cell main range with a rear wing. There are three windows with 19th century casements, 18th century gauged brickwork, and 19th century segmental arches. The entrance is a lobby with a 19th century gabled porch and a boarded door. Inside, there is an internal stack with an original plain oblong shaft and a small gable stack to the left. The interior of the main range shows significant alterations, featuring late 17th or 18th century joists in two ground floor rooms. There may have once been a cross-wing to the left. The rear wing has ogee-moulded floorbeams.
