Description
Coppings Cottage is a house and shop with a core dating from the 16th to 17th century, featuring alterations from the mid 19th century and mid 20th century. The building is timber framed and plastered, designed to imitate ashlar. It has a roof covered with glazed black pantiles and stands two storeys high. The first floor has a range of four mid 20th century six-paned sash windows, while the ground floor has five small-paned sash windows, two from the 19th century and three from the mid 20th century. There is a half-glazed entrance door from the 19th century. The cottage was once the village police station, and the lock-up cell has been preserved inside.
