Description

Charity Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse located on Main Road, Hemingstone. It is a single-storey building with attics, constructed with a timber frame and plastered walls. The roof is thatched, featuring an axial brick chimney dating to the 18th century and a gable chimney with a 20th-century rebuilt shaft. There are thatched, gabled dormers with casement windows. The windows are small-pane casements from the 19th century. The entrance features two 19th-century boarded doors. The timber frame exhibits typical characteristics including primary-braced studwork, square or edge-set joists, and a clasped purlin roof. A significant amount of reused oak timber has been incorporated into the structure.
