Description
Church Farmhouse is a farmhouse, likely from the 17th century or earlier, built in two stages. It has an L-shaped plan and consists of one storey with attics. The structure is timber-framed and plastered, topped with pantiled roofs that were once thatched. A notable axial chimney made of red brick dates from the 17th century. The windows are modern casements. On the east side, there is a 19th-century lean-to extension made of painted brick, which features a boarded entrance door that may date from the 19th or 20th century. A short south wing, which is slightly lower, appears to be of a different and possibly earlier construction. The roof likely has clasped purlins. The exterior of the east wing has been largely rebuilt in painted brick. Inside, there are chamfered beams, 17th-century doors and staircases, and the 17th-century roof trusses are visible in the upper rooms.
